Boston to host Straight Pride on August 31st
Mark Sahady , Vice President of Super Happy Fun America which is organising the first straight pride parade in Boston said he lodged a complaint with the Massachusetts Commission against Discrimination after the City of Boston refused to give a permit .
we filed for a straight pride event with the city of Boston and they rejected our permit so we went to the Massachusetts Commission against Discrimination and filed a discrimination complaint . then we met with the city and the city told us they are going to approve our permit , they just wanted to finalise dates so they have enough resources available

The event will take place on Saturday 31st August and is expected to follow the same route as their Gay Peers starting at Copley Square and Ending at Boston City Hall with a flag raising ceremony of The Blue and Pink flag , followed by speeches and community outreach. Gay Conservative and Former Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos has been announced as grand marshal to the parade.
Organisers say the parade will "celebrate the diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community , achieve inclusivity and spread awareness of issues impacting straights in Greater Boston and beyond" . Organisers have also extended an invitation to Boston's Mayor Martin J. Walsh "to participate and express the city’s support for the straight community".
Event President John Hugo apologised for the timing of the news coinciding with the beginning of gay pride month , he explains... "we did not mean for this to be a distraction from the inclusiveness and the diversity that Boston has to offer . we would really appreciate if all the media attention could die down until the month of pride is finished.." while vice president Mark Sahady added "let the lgbt community celebrate in peace , then the straight community will celebrate following that"
