Explosive interview with Love/Hate Star John Connors
John is well known for his role as Patrick Ward in the crime drama series Love/Hate and was the writer/actor of the 2017 box office hit film cardboard gangsters .
John Grew up in coolock and ended up living in Darndale but was born in London to an Irish Mother and Father which gave him a keen interest in Irish Culture and History ... "because I was born in England , I became extra Irish in my culture and history , I'm obsessed with it" .
John says he suffered depression while living in Darndale and became suicidal , but "found acting as a way out" .
During the abortion referendum , John describes how he was persecuted for his pro life stand even by close friends . He describes how his pro life stand resulted in him being axed from certain roles and had venues cancel him .
I put up a picture saying pro life. The hate I was getting was unbelievable , people I knew who I was friendly with coming after me publicly, then I put it on twitter and again all these z list celebrities quoting me and tweeting me with their little whitty rebuttle , virtue signal cunts , thats all they were , making me out to be the bad guy who has no compassion for a womens right to choose .. Choose What ? they dont like answering that question .
I was getting constant hate , I remember one tweet from someone with a repeal top telling me I hope it goes through so traveller children can be aborted . We have the highest level of suicide in the world out of any group , My own father committed suicide and shes coming out with stuff like that .
Good friends of mine attacked me publicly . 10 speaking gigs cancelled around the country . 2 roles I got were cancelled . one of them outside of the country , a huge role , both of them cancelled , that sent me into a few months of depression .
After a few months everything died down , I looked back at that time , at least no matter what , I kept my dignity and pride and stood up for the most vulnerable life on planet earth . I can sleep . There's been a media shutdown for me since . Before that I had journalist begging me for interviews .
This is what I notice about the left in general , they have extreme empathy for subjects until you disagree with them , and they believe in equality until you disagree with them , you disagree with them its hate and apathy , their the exact opposite of what they're meant to represent .
John describes how he has been subject to public abuse and branded a fascist for agreeing to be interviewed by Grand Torino even by fellow actors like Donal O'Kelly .
I remember when I said I was coming on to your show , Donal O'Kelly who's an actor and an activist , a man who I would have previously respected . He put out a tweet hitting at me , because I agreed to sit down and talk to you , I'm suddenly a fascist for agreeing to talking to you and actually insulted me as well telling me to check my ego etc .
It is frustrating for me to deal with that because I grew up in a culture where there was consequences for your words and you have to stand up and be a man , when you try to smear someone and defame them like that because thats very serious what he was doing to me , you have to stand up and be accounted for and if you dont , your going to found out . thats what happens in my culture , you have to go out the road and box the face of each other and theres nothing wrong with that . I totally love that part of our culture . so its frustrating when you get someone like Donal , With one sweep they are trying to ruin your career , just like the abortion referendum . exact same thing
