Ireland to increase spending by 100 million for African healthcare & infrastructure

politics
Leo Varadkar has announced that the government will increase spending on African Healthcare and infrastructure by more than  100 million in 2019 .

The statement followed the signing of the African Development Bill into Irish Law by President Michael D Higgins on St Stephens Day which will result in Ireland joining the African Development Bank and making significant increases in spending on public services in Africa .

Meanwhile , 2018 saw the worst ever year for hospital overcrowding and homelessness in Ireland.
For the first time ever , the number of admitted patients lying on trolleys and chairs waiting for a hospital bed exceeded the 100,000 mark .
November was the worst ever November on record for hospital overcrowding with 9,679 admitted patients forced to wait on trolleys and chairs for beds , an 11% increase on November 2017 and more than twice (+107%) as bad as 2006, when records began. Five hospitals saw over 500 patients on trolleys in November: Cork University Hospital (932) , University Hospital Galway (676) , Letterkenny University Hospital (581), Tallaght University Hospital (559) and Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore (549). The Irish Nurses and Midwives organisation said that much of the overcrowding is down to understaffing, caused primarily by low pay levels in Irish nursing and midwifery. According to the HSE census, as of September 2018, Ireland’s health service has 227 fewer staff nurses than it did in December 2017 .

Irish Homeless Figures have also seen one of the worst years on record . According to the Focus Ireland charity there were 9,968 people homeless in the week ending November 25th 2018 . This figure includes adults and children. The number of homeless families has increased by 13% since November 2017 .

the HSE is sending letters to people on waiting lists to confirm that they still want to be on the waiting lists . If the people dont reply they get kicked of the lists

it is clear that this government hates its own citizens and would rather improve the healthcare in africa .
