Steede and Maher named AIB Club Players of the Year
By Cian O'Connell
Corofin's Ronan Steede and Borris-Ileigh's Brendan Maher have been named AIB Club Players of the Year.
Steede capped another brilliant campaign with Corofin landing three crucial points in the All Ireland Final success over Kilcoo.
Since that success Steede has enjoyed a productive spell with Galway, who currently sit on top of Division One of the Allianz Football League.
Despite losing the All Ireland final to an accomplished Ballyhale Shamrocks outfit, Borris-Ileigh were inspired throughout their journey through Tipperary and Munster by Brendan Maher.
The versatile Maher was an inspirational figure and despite shooting six points against Shamrocks it wasn't sufficient to deny the star studded Kilkenny team.
Steede and Maher were both presented with their awards at the AIB GAA Club Player Awards ceremony at Croke Park.
