Latest figures from the health protection surveillance centre show 25,163 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Ireland with 1,670 deaths. Dublin has the most confirmed cases with 12,118 cases followed by Cork with 1,527 and Kildare 1,419 cases. 3,312 people have been hospitalised with 410 requiring intensive care . Community transmission accounts for 39% of cases , close contact 59% , travel abroad 2% . Planning Deadlines for objections and appeals extended to beyond 9th May

Due to Coronavirus travel restrictions . The government has made a new order extending the time deadlines for receipt of planning submissions. Where the final deadline to lodge an objection or appeal to a Planning authority or An Bord Pleanala falls between 29th March and 9th May inclusive , the deadline is now extended to a date beyond 9 May 2020 . The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has rejected a complaint made by European Elections Candidate Dr Fidelma Healy Eames relating to her exclusion from two RTE Live debates during the European Elections last year .
