Civil Liberties Ireland: Duplicity OR Double Standards?
CivilLiberties In Ireland: Duplicity OR Double Standards?
Literally only a day or so, after the eight demands of any future government in Ireland, disguised as a Manifesto document. The following tweets were presented by those from within the already generously funded halls of the Irish Council of Civil Liberties (ICCL).
Tweet1 below:Crime is a key Election issue
“ICCL calls on all parties to focus on supporting policing and supporting communities – NOT on false promises of quick fixes thru legislation” Which is a most excellent example of absolute IRONY!, in their own document of demands or to be less pedantic, the ICCL manifesto, which attempts to by it’s very creation, influence legislation.
Another Irony that comes to collective attention is that in the eight demands, the ICCL requests the “Establish a new Independent office of the Police Ombudsman so that we can all have confidence in An Garda Siochana.” (Itemno.4 of 8). Instead of collectively praising those Men and Women, who every morning kiss goodbye their Loved ones, Children &Parents as they leave, In the full knowledge of the fact that todaymight just be the day they end up in hospital or worse, even more pressure and demands are put upon rank and file Gardai by NGOs,Civil Rights Organisations, politicians(especially coming up to a General Election) and by superior officers trying to ingratiate themselves to their political masters.
Tweet2 below: The law against blasphemy was abolished
It appears that the abolishment of the law against blasphemy in Ireland is not only cause for victory but also cause for celebration. Since the introduction of Liberal religion or as it is sometimes called the Woke religion on the island of Ireland, those at the head of the new Liberal belief system, have been much like hungry wolves salivatingover the possibility of shutting up the Catholic Church in Ireland.
That said, I will climb down from my soap box, for fear of sounding piousor being accused of prolonging the alleged rule of the state by the church nowadays in Ireland. Instead let us focus on the piousness of the ICCL statement accompanying the tweet above. Despite, demanding that the right of peaceful assembly be denied to SOME in Ireland along with the right to FREE SPEECH (of some in Ireland), in their manifesto document (item no. 1 of 8) “Establishment of “SafeZones” So that Women & Pregnant People have access to medical facilities and obtain Abortion care in Privacy, Safety and Dignity”.
The ICCL are demanding of the New government that they curb Free Speech and the right to assemble!, while at the same time claiming : “We’ve been campaigning for freedom of expression in it’s fullest and truest sense for over 40 years” ??.
The questions have to be asked: Is it Freedom of Speech for ALL or for just some? AND isn’t there a direct double standard existing in the statements /tweets from the ICCL above versus the demands of their manifesto document ?.
Tweetno.3 below:The ICCL ARE Hiring
No,I am NOT acting as an employment agent for the ICCL by showing the above tweet. But I DO wonder if there isn’t some kind of advertising standards agency thingy that is being contravened in the statement above. I mean can an organisation advertise for employees while making misleading statements?.
Here is an example, let us say, I applied for the above position, Naturally I would apply under the assumption that the ICCL statement on freedom of expression would also mean the freedom of ALL expression and that the ICCL statement on freedom of assembly would mean ALL freedom of assembly!.
