I met a lady from renua at that rally and I predicted the future of Ireland's alternative will be a street movement , its unlikely we'll get people elected because Ireland's inner circle of powerful and influential media tycoons , Journalists and NGOs who control public thinking would never let that happen . in the years ahead we will see a growing street protest movement develop , what will come of it is anyones guess.
^
Well vinnie. What time is the protest on at in Dublin 14/12 please
^
Sadly Vinny TJ I have also come to the same conclusion.

While those running in opposition might have the public behind them to some extent, the fact that the MSM (Main Stream Media) in this country have already illegally taken the decision to deny Free Speech, means that the point of view of ONLY one side will ever be heard!.
To give an example, I was for quite a while of the opinion that such views as shared here on thetricolour.com, were only mine, as I was until finding this site, unaware there was any opposition.

I am quite sure there is a sizeable number of Irish Citizens totally AGAINST the proposed bill against Free Speech, however due to the decision by Irish MSM to create a media blackout, only few will even be aware that there are other like minded people sadly.

My single biggest issue is, IF I found a single voice whose opinion I did not like nor agree with, I WOULD STILL stand beside Him or Her and defend His or Her right to both have said opinion and speak of said opinion. Not because I am anything special ( I am not) BUT because I do genuinely believe in Free Speech & I do really believe that EVERY person within and of this nation Must have the right to speak His or Her mind!.

THE ONLY exception to Free Speech should be where HATE comes in to any debate or discussion. To silence one, means at some point to silence ALL!!

^
if they do bring in these laws you'd have people like izzy & co ringing the gardai every day to moan about something they saw on twitter or social media .
^
very good point paddy . garda resources are stretched as is without having to police social media . If a man wants to call himself a woman , they can but I dont have to be believe them and nobody should be able to force me or anyone else into believing them .
^
it was well organised but the sound system wasn't good . couldn't really hear what was being said. a loudspeaker would have been better than the microphone.
^
fairly decent turnout . many of us take for granted freedom of speech but its not a given , do we want to go down the communist road of persecuting people for their speech . I dont . we must stand strong together and say yes to freedom of speech and no to communism.
^
thanks mike , some good pics . was there myself . aren't those antifa a strange bunch , they pushed me and grabbed my poster out of my hand . could've been worse only for the gardai were on the ball . have to give the gardai credit , they are very well organised and diligent . policed the event very well .
^
momentum is definitely growing alright . there is an awakening . in the conservative region far from the chaotic edge individual objects coalesce showing no clear signs or patterns.
^
Thanks go to Mike Irish, with my respect and admiration.

WOW, I have spent ALL evening fighting my way through the huge articles and outstanding volume of photos and hours of video on the Free Speech rally created, photographed and filmed by Ireland's national broadcaster RTE.

WAIT, NO I DID NOT! to use an old phrase: NOT A DICKIE BIRD! , NOTHING, NADA! our NATIONAL RADIO AND TELEVISION BROADCASTER did nothing, wrote nothing, photographed nothing and videoed NOTHING! therefore my question IS W H Y??

Literally the only coverage given / granted was from supporters and friends.
In view of this, Sincere Thanks go to the following:

thetricolour.com article with photos by Mike Irish. Sincere Thanks!

theliberal.ie Thanks also!

https://theliberal.ie/free-speech-rally-planned-for-dublin-to-oppose-governments-planned-legislation/

It was announced on Facebook. Thank you goes to those who set the page.

https://www.facebook.com/events/leinster-house/free-speech-rally/793983021040709/

The ONLY article to appear from OUR national broadcaster RTE, from a Google search was from the 10th of August this year, WHICH WAS FULLY COVERED! "The Anti-Hate Speech rally" attended by far less than 100 people at Irishtown Garda Station. WITH PHOTOS ! article By Cillian Sherlock .

https://www.rte.ie/news/2019/0810/1068110-anti-hate-protests/

I have included this OLD link of the Anti-Hate Speech Rally, ONLY SO THAT UNLIKE RTE, thetricolour.com could NOT be accused of BIAS, favouring ONLY one side, blatantly standing against FREE SPEECH OR neglecting the opinion of it's citizens!.

It is to say the VERY least SHAMEFUL that our national and publicly FUNDED radio and television broadcaster should ignore the voice of ANY of it's people!. Not to mention the FACT that in doing so is in direct contravention of the broadcasting act.

To those mentioned above, either on the side of free speech OR against, who Respected the rule of law and made their sites and or publication available in the name of common decency and FAIR PLAY! Thanks and Respect go to you.
^
well said justme , i second that . unless its a transgender rally or something , the mainstream press aren't interested . I remember in the summer , it was the morning of the annual rally for life in Dublin which attracts tens of thousands , I switched on two radio stations Q102 and sunshine radio and both were busy advertising a transgender rally taking place from the same spot an hour earlier , they even gave a minute of airtime to the guy organising the transgender rally . The pro life rally which was going to be 50 times bigger was ignored .

All of the radio stations in Ireland and the mainstream press , their news articles are controlled from a central source , they are told what to broadcast and what not to . It is just so corrupt Ireland , it really is just so corrupt .
^
Colm Kelly,

The really astonishing, bewildering thing to me is, WE march / Rally to save the life of the unborn and are called Nazis, Fascists and ignorant?, NO RTE & nobody covers it.

They march / rally TO GAIN ACCESS TO ABORTION and in doing so kill our unborn! They are called Social Justice Warriors, Civil Rights activists AND RTE is there! as is the print media and so on.

We hold a Free Speech Rally PEACEFULLY and are called Bigots, Nazis & Fascists! AGAIN NO RTE and no print media

They hold an ANTI-Free Speech demo / rally keeping the Gardai busy and again are SJW's, & Civil Rights Activists! AGAIN RTE attend as does the print media!

This actually says more about the absolute state of our nation than anything else.

i guess this is the governments way of punishing Galway for Oughterard .They are putting their foot down and saying to galway that resistance is futile , we dont care what you think , we'll put direct provision centres anywhere and everywhere we like and nobody can stop us . thats basically the message thats coming out of this move.

There's definitely a racial agenda to this , in the first 3 years of the 1990s less than 100 people a year claimed asylum in Ireland . On 1 Novemeber 1993 , The Treaty on European Union came into force . Two years later , thousands of asylum seekers started to arrive in Ireland from Nigeria . This had to be ORGANISED . Somebody was organising these people to come to Ireland . AND WHY ? thats the big question . It all goes back to the vision of a man name Richard Kalergi , a foun
