Planning Deadlines for objections and appeals extended to beyond 9th May

Planning Deadlines for objections and appeals extended to beyond 9th May
Due to Coronavirus travel restrictions . The government has made a new order extending the time deadlines for receipt of planning submissions.

Where the final deadline to lodge an objection or appeal to a Planning authority or An Bord Pleanala falls between 29th March and 9th May inclusive  , the deadline is now extended to a date beyond 9 May 2020 .

A Calendar of the new times is available on the An Bord Pleanala website here - http://www.pleanala.ie/COVID-19.htm

Further extensions

This is the second order made to deal with coronavirus travel restrictions . A previous Order which was made on 29 March had specified that the extension period was to end on 20 April but due to further travel restrictions ,  the new order extends that date to 9 May . More orders could follow extending the date as many times as considered necessary until the 9th November 2020 once all the statutory requirements for extension are met under Section 251A of the Planning and Development, Act 2000 .

Members of the public may continue to lodge objections and appeals during the period of the order. Those making planning appeals to An Bord Pleanala should note their reduced opening times  . Their office is currently only open from 9.00 a.m. to 12 noon daily (Monday to Friday) for receipt of applications, submissions and appeals only while those making submissions or objections to their local planning authority should check with their planning authority as to opening times .

A copy of the order is available here - http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2020/si/131/made/en/print

I think planning authorities should be required to notify those impacted by the new time limits . its only fair that people involved in the planning process to whom the new deadlines will apply be told about them and notified in writing.
^
would be an interesting case for Judicial Review . Were planning authorities legally obliged to notify affected parties in writing of the new time limits . I personally think they were

any chance of freezing the fee too now that people are not working , 200 euro for a 3rd party appeal to an bord pleanala is very steep for a lot of ordinary people .
