Donegal : LetterKenny to house 350 Asylum Seekers
letterkenny Donegal to house 350 Asylum Seekers
A new Accommodation Centre for Asylum Seekers consisting of Sixty , two and three Bed Apartments has been announced for the Port Road in Letterkenny , Co Donegal .

Its expected the Asylum Seekers numbering some 350 people will begin moving into the Apartments on the Port Road in the new year .

Local TD , Thomas Pringle has welcomed the move , writing on social Media  -  "There's no better town in Ireland equiped to welcome people than Letterkenny and no better people than ourselves in Donegal to extend a welcome"

Figures from the Department of Justice show there were 4,781 asylum applications lodged in Ireland Last Year . The top 5 Countries of origin were Albania , Georgia , Zimbabwe , Nigeria and South Africa . The Figures show a total of 1,865 decisions on asylum applications were issued last year of which 47.99% were negative decisions .

There was an estimated 7,700 asylum seekers being accommodated in 2019 with some Forty centres now in existance accross the Country . Since 2000, the Department of Justice has paid €1.2 billion directly to private DP accommodation providers while further funds have been spent on the provision of catering and other services by private contractors in state-owned DP centres . to quote James Connolly again - "It is a new plantation, this time with the blessing and connivance of the Parliamentary leaders of the Irish race at home and abroad."
^
€96,189 is a TDs basic salary , when you add in expenses , the sky is the limit , They aint gonna be on the social housing list in donegal thats for sure . they wont know what its like to be treated like Dirt just because you happen to be from this country and put last on the housing list
^
its unfair on irish people who are on the housing list for years that people can just arrive at dublin airport and get housed immediately based on their word that they are an asylum seeker.

If I went to the local housing office and told them I was homeless , a full investigation would have to be done before they even put my on the housing list .
^
FACT . there are "NO WARS" in albania , georgia , nigeria , zimbabwe or south africa . They should Not be using the asylum system to enter Ireland , if they want to come to Ireland they should apply for a work visa like everyone else .

hundreds of people looking for homes in Donegal , some are on the housing list years , this is totally unacceptable
^
I read what Thomas Pringle wrote about this and I just want to say one thing .

when Irish people went to America we went through the PROPER Channels . We didn't pretend to be refugees . even during the famine we Genuinely were fleeing a natural disaster .

Compare that to today's situation . Over the past 20 years , the overall top country of origin for asylum seekers entering Ireland was Nigeria

Nigeria is a Safe country with SIX MILLION TOURISTS a year !! , The country is also huge so even if there was some trouble spots , people could just relocate to a different part . But Instead , they travel accross LOTS OF SAFE COUNTRIES to reach Ireland . Why ? because they know Ireland is a soft touch and we can be taken advantage of

^
why cant they do this for homeless people . There are homeless people dying on our streets , what do they get . Nothing . On the other hand , These people arrive at Dublin Airport , whisper the magic words asylum seeker and are immediately put up in either a 4 star hotel or Given their own apartments , medical cards , transportation , clothing , food , everything is given to them despite the fact most are arriving from safe countries

^
stats dont lie and the stats show that from 2001 to 2016 , out of 54,000 asylum claims only 8% were genuine claims . Its clear that most of these people are taking advantage of our kind nature .

Irish people are struggling to pay their own Mortgages and Bills and now they have to pay for houses for the rest of the world also , this has to stop , we need proper sensible immigration controls .
^
local councillors say they were kept in the dark about it . Cllr Mick McBride said the DOJ stonewalled them .. "for the Department of Justice to stonewall us and not to answer the letter that was sent by Donegal County Council beggars belief"

Anyway , would make no difference , what the DOJ wants , the DOJ gets .
^
OWN THE PROBLEM-fix it,NO DEBATE-you debate.A DECISION IS MADE BY YOU-you
decide.EVERYONE MUST ACCEPT-why?AND ITS FINAL-no such thing as final.and sadly
if politicians are too afraid-THEY ARE NOT PAID TO BE AFRAID,THEY ARE THERE TO
REPRESENT YOU...you tell them or are you afraid. We are human beings, not robots
^
the problem is that there is no debate anymore . a decision is made and everyone must accept it , and its final . sadly , many politicians are too afraid to even discuss these kind of matters
