Prestigious Castleknock College could offer Asylum Seekers a real Education
 

With the current trend towards moving asylum seekers into socially deprived areas that are already struggling with resource shortages and if its a case that the government are not going to control our borders and continue with its current system, then I ask the question - Would it make a lot more sense to move asylum seekers into Wealthier communities where resources are ripe and abundant ?

Wealthy Areas offer a lot in terms of resources, for example Schools in wealthy areas have top notch facilities and smaller class sizes. 

Castleknock College for example has 10 Rugby pitches, 6 floodlit Tennis Courts, a Table Tennis centre, Stables, Cricket Ground with Pavilion , an Athletics and Running track. The school has been awarded first place in the Irish Independent's list of the Best Schools In Ireland with 100% of graduates going on to third level. Notable people such as Minister Roderic O'Gorman have served on its Board of Management and would know the benefits it could bring to the education of asylum seekers arriving in Ireland.

Another advantage of wealthy areas is that the asylum seekers would have access to important politicians on their doorstep .

In Castleknock they would have Leo Varadkar and Roderic O'Gorman on their doorstep ,  both politicians have been very vocal on the welfare of refugees and asylum seekers .

In Churchtown, they would have Josepha Madigan, Minister for Special Education and Inclusion , who has said she is ... "pushing strongly within Government for us to accept as many refugees and asylum seekers as possible", what better place than Churchtown.

In Rathmines and Terenure , they would have Minister Eamon Ryan at their disposal , the Minister has been a strong advocate for asylum seekers and refugees and spoke about... "bringing in people as refugees in scale"... "we must plan on becoming an Island of 10 million people and among that bringing in people as refugees in scale", what better place than Terenure or Rathmines?

Having all these important politicians on the doorstep would be amazing for asylum seekers because if they had any problems these politicians would be right on hand to help ?

The benefits wealthy areas can offer is endless, statistics in Castleknock for example show that 27% of couples dont have any children so there may be a lot of spare rooms in a lot of big houses not to mention the happiness it would bring people to live in such places.

moral of story - you can't have a situation were some people are living in glass houses casting stones at others for complaining when they are living the high life far removed from the issue.

please think about things from other people's perspective before you judge or vote for something

reality is, most of the human rights people , academics , journalists etc who advocate for continued mass migration live in the wealthiest areas of dublin where there are no migrants and are not impacted by pressures on public resources or employment

I mean , the UNHCR building in Ballsbridge D4 could easily accommodate a few . if they can afford a property in the heart of ballsbridge they certainly have enough cash to convert a few rooms

I know they are just following orders. but I dont think I could do it. I mean it could be their own mother or grandmother. this community is clearly concerned about these undocumented men being moved in and those concerns have fallen on deaf ears. the gov dont want to listen or compromise. its bully boy tactics using the gardai like this.
