Nursing Home Rapist entered Ireland illegally from Nigeria

52 year old Nigerian Man Emmanual Adeniji who raped an elderly Nursing home resident with Alzheimer's in her bed during the Covid-19 lockdown in April , had entered the country illegally in the year 2000 without a valid passport .
The Sunday World has revealed that Mr Adeniji subsequently lodged an application for asylum claiming to be fleeing religious persecution.
Mr Adeniji withdrew that application for asylum after learning Ireland had introduced Birthright Citizenship and subsequently applied for residency rights on the basis that his son had been born here and subsequently awarded Irish Citizenship in 2012.
Mr Adeniji from Kilcock in Co Kildare had been a healthcare worker for the past 15 years , On Thursday he was jailed for 11 years with the final year suspended at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin for the horrific rape which took place in a nursing home somewhere in the east of the Country. Adeniji was recorded on CCTV going in and out of the woman's room , the woman was later found in a distressed state by a staff member . The elderly woman subsequently made a statement to gardai , a DNA sample from Adeniji was taken and matched one taken from the victim. He was charged and pleaded guilty .
In a victim impact statement , the Woman's daughter told the Court that Adeniji had destroyed her mother's life . The daughter told the court that her mother who is suffering with Alzheimers had felt safe and happy in her new home but Adeniji has now destroyed her life . .. "This animal took took that security away , we will never forget how that man single-handedly destroyed our Mam's life" .
Judge Paul McDermott described the effects on the victim as "devastating" with feelings of "depression, suicidal thoughts, nightmares and a lack of safety" and said Adeniji showed "lack of real remorse" .
A source told the Sunday World , that it is extremely unlikely that Adeniji will be deported back to Nigeria when he finishes his jail sentence .. "it is theoretically possible but the reality is its extremely unlikely his citizenship will be revoked" a source told the Sunday World .
