Freedom of Expression in Ireland under threat from growing number of NGOs

Freedom of Expression in Ireland under threat from growing number of NGOs

There is a big push now in Ireland to silence dissenting views especially if those views are in any way conservative and dont align with globalist goals . Non governmental organisations (NGOs) with funding from the EU commission and various government departments are creating an Iron Curtain to control public

Keeping politics out of sport - New Leitrim sponsorship raises concerns over politicization of GAA

Keeping politics out of sport - New Leitrim sponsorship raises concerns over politicization of GAA
Leitrim hurling - new sponsorship deal with migrant rights centre raises concerns over politicization of GAA
Concerns have been raised in relation to the GAA Constitution and its policies around political movements , playing gear and sponsorship following a decision by the Leitrim Hurling team to enter into a sponsorship deal with the Migrant Rights Centre in Dublin and the One Foundation .

Under the sponsorship deal , Leitrim hurlers will wear a Jersey with the words "No to Racism"  alongside the logo of the Migrant Rights Centre in Dublin.

Under Rule 1.11 of the GAA Constitution .. "no Committee, Club, Council or representative thereof shall take part, as such, in any party political movement. A penalty of up to twenty four weeks suspension may be imposed for infringement"

The Migrant Rights Centre founded in 2001 is a political organisation lobbying for political change in the area of migration policy in Ireland .  The organisation has appeared a number of times before various Oireachtas Committees to lobby for political changes to migration policy .

Among its stated goals are to :  "Secure broad political support to address the situation of undocumented migrants , to introduce a regularisation for undocumented migrants and their families in Ireland" and "enable constructive dialogue and engagement between migrants and social partners, politicians & policy makers leading to the better informing of policies being made" .

The financial statements of the company reveal a large extent of political funding . In 2019 , its records showed the organisation received two grants from the EU Commission worth 250,000 and 279,092 , along with two grants from the governments Pobal fund worth 267,926 and 270,000 . Records show the organisation also received funding from the Open Society Foundation worth 86,499 . The Open Society Foundation owned by Billionaire George Soros has been accused by a number of countries including Macedonia, Romania, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Serbia of attempting to undermine their democracy . In 2017 , a movement in Macedonia called SOS "stop operation soros" led by prominant media officals attempted to ban open society funding in the country accusing the organisation of "
monopolising civil society" while former Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said Soros had a “decisive influence” on his nation’s politics.

Also involved in the Leitrim sponsorship deal is the ONE foundation , the company founded in 2004 has appeared a number of times before oireachtas committees to lobby for political changes on various issues including migration pollicy in Ireland .

Rule 1.18 - playing gear and equipment

Concerns have also been raised that the current rules only allow for a "sponsors brand name" to appear on Jerseys and do not allow for messages such as "no to racism" or any other message which is not the sponsors actual name .

1.18(c) Only in accordance with an officially approved Sponsorship Agreement may a Sponsor’s brand name(s), distinctive marks or logo be displayed on Jerseys, tracksuits and kitbags of players

(i) Other than in accordance with sub clauses (c) and (h), no other brand name(s), distinctive marks or logo or other advertising material shall be displayed on jerseys, shorts, tracksuits or kitbags

The new Leitrim Jersey was unveiled at Croke Park on Monday by Leitrim hurler Zak Moradi and will have its first outing next Sunday against Louth.

Jersey Launch : Leitrim players with One Foundations Brian Mulvihill and the GPA's Colm Begley

its true , people should read the gaa constitution . it only mentions 'brand names' on jerseys , it doesn't say anything about allowing messages .

have sent my complaint to GAA HQ - info@crokepark.ie . Leitrim hurling is involving itself with a political movement . this goes against the very core of the GAA constitution.
^
love leitrim , hate politics in sport . say no to political organisations sponsoring gaa teams . love leitrim , hate politics in sport .
^
i wouldn't like to see sport go down the st pauli / bohs fc road where they've become political in nature . whether your on the left or right , thats for your own personal time , sport is for everyone ,to bring everyone together regardless of political views . This is why political organisations whoever they are should not be allowed to get a foothold on it .

I've seen fans at galway fc matches flying Antifa Flags and during the abortion referendum , banners in support of repeal . The people involved were members of galway anti racism network . anti racism seems to be a front, a disguise for a much wider political agenda . the club did its best to deal with it but its not a nice development whats going on
^
would like the leitrim hurlers to come to dublin and see irish homeless waiting a decade for a home while those claiming asylum will wait just 4 months under a new system introduced by Minister Roderic O'Gorman .

Whether thats racist or not only Roderic O'Gorman can answer but it certainly is discrimination against irish homeless

someone only has to arrive at dublin airport and make an asylum application, their application doesn't even have to be approved and they will still be given a house in just 4 months !! , everyone else on housing list 7-12 years
^
the question i want to know , is someone within leitrim hurling involved with this organisation ? , who came up with the idea and how did it come about ???
^
keep politics out of sport . leitrim hurlers think long hard about this. This is NOT about racism , its about political organisations using the GAA to further a political agenda .

this is about manufacturing and promoting the idea that we have a racism problem in Ireland even though there is no research to support that claim and in doing so shutting down any possible debate around peoples genuine concerns around immigration matters in Ireland .

please dont allow yourself to be used by these political organisations like the migrant rights centre and one foundation . please think long and hard about this , keep politics out of sport
^
MRCI is a political lobby group . racism is one of their campaigns . leitrim are therefore facilitating a political campaign by contracting with the organisation and promoting its campaign on their jersey
^
if your a leitrim fan , ask yourself this , when was the last time you saw a racist incident anywhere in leitrim . I live in a populated area in dublin with many different nationalities and I've NEVER ever seen one racist incident in all my time . Its a Non issue . These organisations are just using it as a way to control public discourse (and get funding) and make people afraid to question anything to with migration on the basis that they'll be considered racist
