Phillip Schofield story shows us gay people can live happy with opposite sex

Letter to Editor 16 September 2020 They say Love is more than just physical attraction . In February of this year , BBC presenter Phillip Schofield announced publicly that he was gay . Schofield had been married to his wife Stephanie for 27 years and had two daughters at the time of the announcement . Yesterday it was reported , he was converting the wifes garage into a Bachelor Pad and would remain in the family home which is worth some 2.6 million . The Scholfield story shows us that while gay people might be sexually attracted to the same sex , physical attraction and love are two

Covid-19 recovery rates hidden from public

Letter to Editor 12 Sept 2020 Every day in Ireland , the overall total of confirmed Covid-19 cases and Deaths is read out in our daily news Bulletins . Many people are wrongly led to believe that this is the number of people who currently have the Virus right now but actually it is the number of people who tested positive for the virus since the very start of the pandemic at the end of March and many of these people have since recovered and no longer have the virus . Unfortunately , the number of people who have the Virus "right now" is NOT KNOWN because

From an Irish ex pat - thoughts on Brexit and BBC bias

Letter to Editor 31/01/2020 Hello good people. I am a Brit ex pat, presently resident in Brasil, where sadly Guinness is hard to come by. (hee hee) Born of Ulsterman Father and Dublin born Mother. Mixed religion. Aged 63 I witnessed many of the 'Troubles' in the North. I used to spend my school summer holidays on my Uncles farm in County Down. How times have changed. I too complained to the BBC about its' coverage of Brexit and its' so,so,so PRO remain stance. So much did I complain, I am now banned from complaining? The main reason the BBC banned me was

The Fiona Gregg story - The sad story of a Mother whos children were taken from her by a failed system

In November 2013 , Gardai issued a nationwide alert for a missing Roscommon woman and her three children . They were later found safe and well in Fermanagh . The Woman's name was Fiona Gregg . This is the last time Fiona would be together with her children as a family . Here is Fiona's full story in her own words . I moved to county Roscommon in 2008 as a lone parent with two of my children. I qualified as an EMT but shortly after that I got ill with gallstones. When the doctor advised me I'd need to have my gall bladder removed, I

Minister Harris hits out at pro life doctors who refuse to facilitate abortion
Minister for Health , Simon Harris has threatened hospitals that refuse to carry out abortions with the Direct Placement of HSE staff who will do it .

Harris was responding to comments made by Kilkenny obstetrician Dr Trevor Hayes who said St Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny will not be providing abortions and medical professionals who conscientiously object to abortion would not be bullied into taking part .

Speaking at the All Ireland Rally for Life 6 July 2019 , Dr Hayes stated :

My Name is Dr Hayes , I'm an obstetrician in st lukes hospital kilkenny , I love my job , I'm an advocate for the unborn , the purest of the pure , the most innocent .

last month we informed the GPs in the area and the HSE that we would not be performing abortions in st lukes hospital .

All four consultant obstetricians in the hospital decided unanimously that the hospital is not an appropriate location for medical or surgical terminations , a great many of my colleagues are unwilling to perform surgical abortions and they will not be forced to carry out this life ending procedure .

Would the politicians who most vehemently insist that we must perform abortions be willing to carry out one themselves . Would they evulse limb from limb and crush a baby's head and call it healthcare . Would they undertake the horrific task of ending the life of a living growing human being , I suspect not but they want us and they want to force Doctors like me to do so and thats not going to happen .

Would the GPs who are attacking pro life obstetricans on twitter perform a later-term surgical abortion again I suspect most of them would not , so why are they trying to force other people to be involved in something so repugnant to those of us who adhere to the first principle of medicine which is do no harm , shame on them for failing to respect conscientious rights of their colleagues in medicine but we wont be bullied by them either .

I got into medicine to help mothers and babies and to save lives . I will not be forced or bullied by politicians or by the media into performing or facilitating abortions .

Every other day I have the privilege to witness birth . I can see true love when a mother delivers her baby and her partner gazes on that child's eye . That is love and peace .

The truth is government is trying to trample the rights of medical professionals who conscientiously object to taking part in abortions , this a form of bullying that is absolutely unacceptable because a person's conscience is not subject to majority rule.

let me be clear , I will not take the curette to a helpless child in the womb and nobody can make me do so and there are hundreds if not thousands of doctors , nurses , midwives , pharmacists who feel the same , in fact 85% of GPs do not believe that abortion should be part of their general practice and 80% of GPs said they will not participate in providing abortion as part of general practice

  .

Hitting out at the Comments , Minister Harris responded by threatening Hospitals with the placement of Direct HSE Staff who will carry out the abortions .

In some hospitals conscientious objection has actually become obstruction . there are some doctors in our hospitals who have gone beyond their own conscientious objection to actually trying to obstruct the establishment of the service and I'm not going to tolerate it , the HSE is not going to tolerate it and the government is not going to tolerate it either .

I do obviously have powers to direct the HSE to provide services as well .  If we cant have services provided by the natural way of asking people in certain parts of the country then we can actually put in a direct HSE staff resource into that part of the country .

Harris is acting like a spoilt child , he cant force doctors to carry out abortions , if they dont want to do it , he cant force them against their will .
^
everyone from hospital administrators , cleaners and porters will be implicated in abortion , their freedom of conscience must be gauranteed too . Harris is bullying vulnerable people who just want to make a living without having to kill people
^
we have thousands of children waiting on life saving surgery and treatments but all Harris seems to care about is forcing people to take part in abortions , in fact he seems obsessed with the issue . we really have become a dictatorship
^
all of our freedoms protected in the constitution are being taken from us . Its amazing how quickly communism can spread but also very terrifying .

if people have the money , they should book a room for a homeless person even for a couple of nights . any one of us could be that person , sitting all alone on the street worrying where the next meal will come from or where your life is going

you can arrive at dublin airport whisper the magic word 'asylum' and you're put up in a hotel , fed , clothed , given medical cards and education , meanwhile homeless people can throw themselves in Liffey and not get any attention from government . left to freeze on streets , attacked , beaten , robbed , desperate and afraid , but no provision for them , why ?

Homeless Lives Matter . Its so sad seeing people left to rot on our streets like the dirt on someones shoe I listened to Paul Murphy say its nothing to do with Immigration . Of Course it is . Every society only has so many Houses , So many hospital beds , so many school places . You have to have some sort of controls over immigration in order to have a healthy society where people wont be fighting it out for dwindling public resources and low paid jobs. Guess who benefits the most fr
