John Connors said at the rally "I'll never back down" , now he has backed down and issued a full apoplogy to Roderic O'Gorman , why? , so disappointed for him as person , really am.

^
While of course I understand your need for diplomacy in such matters.

I find Mr. Connors statement about SUCH people leading him as the most offensive of all his comments.

It was within Mr Connors rights to walk back on His own personal statement/s, fair enough! but to sell out those who accepted him with open arms is something else, especially when doing so only harms others!.

I was the first to applaud Mr Connors for his stance and even expressed admiration at the time.

I neither know nor care why Mr Connors chose to retract his Own statements, that is his business.

I will however say this much, I never attended a protest under threat nor was I forced to attend!.

It greatly saddens me that any fellow Irish man woman or child would claim otherwise!.

^
i stood a few feet from connors and he meant every single word of that speech, i found connors to be a very intelligent man who knew exactly what he was doing and saying and if anything , connors himself was egging on the crowd . Now the man claims he was duped into saying the things he did . Watch the Video , Connors meant every last word of what he said .
^
There was a lot of travellers at that rally ,I wonder what they make of his U-turn and apology to O'Gorman . hard to believe someone can do 360 turn after such a passionate speech .
^
whats done is done , the man changed his mind , for future events probably better to give ordinary people Mic and let them talk
^
connors would make an excellent politician , straight talking , says it like it is , people respect that . fantastic speech .
^
very disappointing that nobody in the mainstream press was bothered to cover this event . And they wonder why their sales are plummeting , i mean rte radio is losing thousands of listeners but they dont care , they insist on propping up the government by acting as their propaganda wing
^
I agree totally Bull.

Like you I find myself in total awe of Mr. Connors.

Not just for the stance he takes, but also because in his position as an Actor and film maker, he has more than most to lose!.

Thank You to Dublin Lad, Great Job!!
^
too much pressure on the man got to him in the end
^
thanks justme , i had to cut the video short but he talks about the threats and abuse he received on social media , people telling him he'll never work again and to back down from his stand and they will back of him , needless to say he told them where to go . for what does it benefit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his sole , its time for the fighting irish to stand up once again and be counted
^
IF YOU CANNOT STAND THE HEAT,GET OUT OF THE
KITCHEN. TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH. Well Justme,I reflect on election 2020. I firmly believe that the result was rigged as was 500,000 votes unaccounted for in
Gay Marriage referendum. They say less than 2% went to the
Nationalist vote and we know that the SF result was a protest
vote. The electorate did not want FFG and they demonstrated
also that they did not want GREEN. The result...FFGG.
Considering the obstacles, corruption and media bias by the
INCUMBENTS it was essential to show a UNITED FRONT by
National Patriots. We had nothing before and then TOO MANY CHOICES. Get you ACT TOGETHER and agree on
CORE PRINCIPLES, AS ONE. We had the first opportunity for the electorate in almost 100 years, but EGO'S AND
BICKERING " LOST THE PLOT ". Learn to crawl before you walk " BEFORE YOU RUN FOR ELECTION ". Your mixed
Signals and pettiness is not a prerequisite for patriotism. Grow up ffs, we all know how DIVIDE AND CONQUER WORKS,If you cannot agree now before you ENTER OFFICE
you certainly will not after and your STUPIDITY IS LOST TO
TRUE IRISH PATRIOTS...cop on or cop out, be man enough
