newsreport
politics
A caller to the Niall Boylan show that worked in the Asylum System in Ireland for 18 years has said the system is being abused and says only a very small number of the people he saw were genuine asylum seekers

The amount of abuse I've seen in 18 years is unbelievable . people who have actually claimed asylum in other countries come to Ireland because we've the easiest system in the world .

The caller says that during the period when Ireland had birthright citizenship , heavily pregnant women were arriving from the Airport , one person even gave birth in the office .

They see Ireland as a Soft Touch and it is . NGOs making a fortune from the system now dictate Irelands' immigration policy .

if someone goes through the process and it is proven that they are Not genuine , then they need to be deported . But this is not happening because the government is too politically correct .

from 2001 to 2016 , statistics from the department of justice show that only 8% were deemed genuine and had their claims approved . But most of the remainder were allowed to stay here also . Whats the point in having a system if nobody is deported at the end of it ?
