A YouGov poll of 1,700 adults has shown a majority of three to one people want to change the countries asylum laws so that migrants who arrive in the UK illegally through a safe country such as France would be barred from claiming asylum . Of those surveyed , a majority of four to one were also in favour of deporting failed asylum applicants. The findings come amid a surge in migrant boat crossings accross the English Channel from France to Dover . So far this year , 5,034 illegal migrants have crossed the English Channel to Dover from France with 110 migrants
