Hello good people. I am a Brit ex pat, presently resident in Brasil, where sadly Guinness is hard to come by. (hee hee)
Born of Ulsterman Father and Dublin born Mother. Mixed religion.
Aged 63 I witnessed many of the 'Troubles' in the North. I used to spend my school summer holidays on my Uncles farm in County Down. How times have changed. I too complained to the BBC about its' coverage of Brexit and its' so,so,so PRO remain stance. So much did I complain, I am now banned from complaining?
The main reason the BBC banned me was for a complaint regarding, (Fatboy/ as they call him in Ulster);Nolan. On one 'phone in' he'd cut off any 'leave' caller after 15/20 secs, but any pro remainer was allowed to talk for as long as he or she wanted to. I reported this to Ofcom without any response. The UK and Eire joined the EEC. which was largely based on trade of farm goods. Both important to the UK and Eire. Yes there were other issues, but never was the EEC seen as a political animal. I remember the late great Tony Benn, who was originally in favour of the EEC, but when it MORPHED into the EU: Called it, 'An unelected, undemocratic, unanswerable bunch of bureaucrats whose sole aim is to strengthen Germany and Frances' control on EU finances, at the expense of other more wealthy nations.
