Galway Man begins walk to Brussels to protest Cost of Living and Homeless crisis

Galway Man begins walk to Brussels to protest Cost of Living and Homeless crisis
Galway Man Alan Sweeney has begun a 28 day walk from Galway to Brussels to highlight Homeless and Cost of Living Crisis
A Galway Man has begun a 28 day , 605 mile (974km) Walk to the EU Commission in Brussels to protest the Homeless and Cost of Living Crisis in Ireland.

Alan Sweeney from Kilcolgan in Galway began the first leg of his Journey from Kilcolgan towards Dublin Port , a walk which will take him 6 days and see him cover 203km. Sweeney will then board the ferry to Holyhead where he'll walk to Dover, a 567km trek over 16 days. From Dover he'll travel to Calais in France where he'll start the final leg of his Journey to Brussels covering 204km over 6 days , finally arriving at the EU Commission in Brussels on July 24th.

Writing on social media Mr Sweeney has said he is walking to Brussels to "protest against the current Homeless and Cost of Living crisis in Ireland" and to "highlight the devastating impacts that the EU has had since Ireland joined".

I'm planning on walking from Galway to the EU Commission in Brussels, Belgium in protest against the current Homeless and Cost of Living crisis in Ireland. The reason I'm walking to Brussels is to highlight the devastating impacts that the EU has had since Ireland joined.

These issues involve home ownership decreases, land ownership decreases, child birth decreases, a growing mental health crisis, a growing homeless crisis, debt enslavement as well as watching Ireland's interests being shafted aside in order to entertain EU policies.

Walk Schedule

In the past , Mr Sweeney has undertaken Walks from Galway to Dublin, Cork to Dublin, Dublin to Newry, Dublin to Galway and Galway to Cork to raise awareness for the homeless and mental health crisis in Ireland.

Those wishing to offer Mr Sweeney words of support in his endeavour can contact him via his Facebook Page

powerful stuff . he'll have some sore feet when he gets there . good on him though

And I would walk 500 miles, and we would walk 500 more, just to be the Man.
Better than doing nothing, and if people joined in,well that is something Inspirational.
ARE THERE BETTER WAYS,TO GET YOUR POINT ACCROSS,ANY Suggestions?
When do we actually grab the Bull by the horns, the shortest "ROUTE " to solve a problem?
^
fair play to this man , not many that would walk 600 miles for their country. note i like to use miles instead of km , km was imposed on us by the EU Commission , miles was always a tradition. easier to visualize too
